A few weeks ago we took a family vacation to Rocky Mountain National Park. I think for now it is definitely going down as one of our best vacations to date! And of course getting to take photos in such a scenic location totally blessed my photo loving heart! So if you are interested here is a snippet of the photos I took on our vacation.
Up first is the little ground squirrels that are at the entrance to Estes Park. These guys were so fun to watch scurry across the rocks and grab a little snack right out of your hand. Needless to say this was my 6 year old's favorite part of the whole vacation.
Ok so this is kinda a funny picture to include, but a few years ago we had a hummingbird feeder and the kids and I loved watching the birds come feed. I tried many times to capture a hummingbird but was always unsuccessful so when I saw this little guy around Estes Park and not so shy of people I finally got my chance to capture a hummingbird picture.

The next day we hiked up to Alberta Falls. This was a 2 mile round trip hike and I wasn't sure how my kids would handle it, but I have to say they loved it and only got tired towards the end. It did help that this hike involved seeing lots of elk, including baby elk, and so many boulders just perfect for boys that just have to climb ALL THE TIME! Oh and the temperature on this day was in the 50-60's so really a perfect day for a hike.
We stayed at a cabin at the YMCA and it was beautiful scenery right off our deck. Also one of the kids favorite things about the trip was getting to see all the different animals. Here, my aspiring photographer is taking a picture of a deer that was right outside our window during breakfast. Aaron and I also saw a bear walk by early one morning!
A few extra pictures taken at a picnic site.
I got to go on a special hike with my oldest around Bear Lake. The other boys were tired and ready for a snack so just he and I walked around this beautiful small lake.
And this was our last day when we drove up Trail Ridge Road. And while at the top we really enjoyed watching this little yellow bellied marmot.
We loved our trip so much that we all want to go back and next time we want to stay at the YMCA on the other side of Rocky Mountain National Park near Grand Lake.
